Kent Big Weekend Facebook Competition
In addition to our Twitter Selfie competion we are running a Facebook Photo contest for those stunning pictures of Kent you have been dying to take.
Bring those hidden photography skills to light and help us show off just how wonderful The Garden of England is.
The rules are simple - on Saturday 21st or Sunday 22nd March take a photo of the attraction you are visiting for MKBW and share on our Facebook page @VisitKent.
Your image (and text) should show off the destination, and aim to inspire other people to visit Kent.
The competition closes at 5pm Monday 23RD March, and the best picture from the weekend will win a year’s membership to English Heritage for two!
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
- The competition will open at 6am Saturday 21st March and closes Monday 23 March
- The competition is only open to people who have been allocated tickets as part of My Kent Big Weekend
- Post your photo on our Facebook page @VisitKent
- Visit Kent will choose the best photo and the winner will be notified via Facebook on ***Tuesday 24th March***
- If the winner does not respond to their Facebook message within 24 hours, another winner will be selected
- The judges’ decision is final
- The terms of the prize are not negotiable and cannot be exchanged for cash in whole or in part.
- Employees of Visit Kent, business participating in My Kent Big Weekend and members of their immediate families are not eligible to participate
- The decision of Visit Kent is final and no correspondence or discussion shall be entered into.
- The winner may be required to participate in related publicity.

My Kent Big Weekend SELFIE!
We are certain that once you get your My Kent Big Weekend ticket, you will be in for a weekend that you won’t forget.
But to make sure you don’t – and to help us show off just how great Kent is to the rest of the world – why not enter the Kent Big Weekend Selfie competition?
The rules are simple – on Saturday 21st or Sunday 22nd March take a selfie of you and your friends/family at your allocated MKBW location.
Your image (and text) should show off the destination, and aim to inspire other people to visit Kent.
(We don’t really mind if someone else takes the photos, but it’s got to show YOU and YOUR DESTINATION)
Then post it on Twitter using #kbwselfie and #ETW15. Get your friends to RT it too!

- You don’t have to take the photo yourself, but images must show at least the ticket holder and their destination. Images of the destinations without any people will not be considered. Equally images of people with no visual indication of where they are will be discounted

Dates for 2015 Big Weekend
Visit Kent has announced the dates for the 2015 My Kent Big Weekend and is calling on the county’s tourist attractions, venues and destinations to get involved.
For the ninth year, tourism champion Visit Kent is teaming up with Kent’s attractions to help local people experience new attractions and discover hidden gems, and to share their experiences with friends and family.
The event will be held on 21st & 22nd March, and Visit Kent hopes to build on the record-breaking success of the 2014 event, which saw 123 of Kent’s visitor attractions and destinations signing up and 116,414 applications from the public for more than 21,000 free tickets to participating attractions.
The event heralds the start of the 2015 visitor season for the county, and its success has seen it incorporated into the English Tourism Week celebrations across the country.
Sandra Matthews-Marsh, chief executive at Visit Kent, said: “The My Kent Big Weekend has become hugely important in showcasing the county’s amazing array of visitor attractions and activities to local people, who are then able to recommend the great places on their doorstep to friends and relatives when they visit.”
As well as involving castles, wildlife animal parks and steam train attractions, Visit Kent also urges museums, adult education centres, sports facilities and country parks to get involved.
