Fleur de Lis Museum & Guided Town Walk in Faversham

More than 2000 years of history stretch out, from Vikings to Victorians and beyond, in this fascinating heritage centre museum!

Enjoy a 90 minute stroll around fascinating Faversham, a charming and historic town, escorted by knowledgeable & interesting Faversham Society guides. The town boasts more than 475 listed buildings and one of the finest medieval streets in the country. The Parish Church of St Mary of Charity has a crown spire visible for miles around, England's oldest brewery has been here since 1698 whilst Faversham Creek remainsa haven for wildlife and boats.

Discover the museum's role as a major port in medieval times, take a seat on a powder keg to watch the tale of the centuries-long explosives industry. Young and old will love the old schoolroom and high street shops long replaced by chain stores. No-one remains unmoved by the graphic reminders of two world wars but will smile at a penny farthing still ridden on special occasions. Crafts long-forgotten, a pre-digital working telephone exchange, a quiet Georgian garden...
