Willesborough Windmill

Historic sites

Willesborough Windmill

A working windmill where the traditional method of flour milling can be seen.

As part of the Big Weekend, join us on a free guided tour of the mill. The guide will explain how flour is made using traditional millstones and show how the various other machines are involved in the process.

Children will be able to make a small quantity of flour using hand quern stones. Domestic life in a working Mill is shown by our displays in the Victorian kitchen and parlour. The adjacent barn has a display of 'Norman' motorbikes and cycles - manufactured in Ashford in the middle part of the 20th century. There is also a café serving afternoon tea and light refreshments (food and drink not included in the offer).
