Chartwell was the family home of Sir Winston Churchill from 1924 until the end of his life and remains much as it was when he lived there. The principle rooms of the house are shown largely as they were in Chartwell's heyday - the 1920s and 30s - and contain personal memorabilia, books and family photographs.
The beautiful terraced gardens command breathtaking views over the Weald of Kent and visitors can see the newly-restored and productive kitchen garden. The gardens also contain the lakes Sir Winston created and Lady Churchill's Rose Garden. Many of Churchill's paintings can be seen in the garden studio. Timed tickets for the house are available from the Visitor Centre.
Opening times: Garden, shop and cafe 10.00-17.00. House 11.00-17.00 (last entry 16.15)
